The teaching team is led by;

Sally Alden – Head Teacher

Sally was leading the school for five years, from late 2012 to July 2017; she created robust policies and procedures for the school alongside developing the curriculum and staff team.  Since opening the school back in January 2013 Sally has led it through a Good Ofsted inspection and back in May last year, an improved monitoring visit, After a short break Sally has resumed her role as Head Teacher and is excited for the schools future, feeling there is a shared vision on how to take the school positively forward, including continuously working with the school governance, Staff, parents and the wider community to maximise progression and opportunity for all of its students.

Sally is a qualified teacher with over 25 year’s extensive experience of working with hard to reach young people. Sally has a 2.1 BSc in Social Science, and a Masters in Education and Leadership, specialising in Special Educational Needs.  Sally is also a qualified advanced SENCO and has a background in writing, developing and delivering a number of programmes for young people that for one reason or another have been on the periphery of mainstream education. Sally has previously worked for The Princes Trust and Broadland District Council alongside being chosen to represent Britain in Kenya, helping develop culture and diversity within education. Sally was asked by the Prince of Wales to become a real-life ambassador for the Trust alongside winning Team Leader of the year award and being nominated as a young person’s champion for the Eastern region.  Whilst with Broadland District Council Sally established a ‘Schools Out’ provision providing alternative education for hard to reach learners across the county. Prior to joining the School Sally wrote and managed the ‘Our House’ project; a nationally recognised post 16 provisions which incorporated breaking down barriers to learning. The project progressed over 80 young people in to long-term skilled employment or training over the three years of delivery.

Sally Strongly believes that all young people have strengths and the ability to learn; they just need the right environment and someone to believe in them.
